Please find below some useful Slideshares and links to information about creating ePortfolios using a variety of platforms.
The most commonly used platforms for online ePortfolios are:
- Blogger (attached to Google)
- Weebly
- Pebblepad
- Google Sites
- edublogs
- Wordpress
- Wikispaces
- PLANE
It is entirely up to you which one you want to use - some are easier to operate than others, and each has its own benefits and disadvantages. Some will ask you to pay for a subscription, or will only give you a certain amount of storage space before you have to pay. Others have more space but are harder to build and aren't as exciting to look at. Whichever you choose, know that Google will always be able to provide you with further direction and problem solving options!

AITSL Australian Professional Standards for Teachers
There are a number of reasons why a teacher might begin an ePortfolio. The most common reason is to track professional learning and development. Whether you set your ePortfolio out to easily lay out evidence for the Australian National Professional Standards, or if it's a means of keeping track of professional learning, or even to share ideas, resources and concepts with a wider audience.
It's important to remember that professional learning is not the only reason to begin an ePortfolio. Students can benefit hugely from one of these in our ever-changing technological world. Students can transform their transition portfolios into digital masterpieces, and it also allows them to include work examples, such as videos, podcasts and music, that would otherwise be left out. Teachers can create a class portfolio and post tasks, projects, have a discussion board and student blogs. Share photos of the students working, or images of their work. Share successes and trials with your school community and the world.
